Day 5?

Well I should be more vigilant about posting everyday, but these days are a little boring. I went up to the top of an overlooking neighborhood. If you look at day 1 pictures, the second picture, its the clump of buildings on the left. I tried to bike all the way up, but made it about 40 feet before having to push my bike all the way up. The road is steeper than anything I have ever seen. The British family across the pool invited me over for diner and we sat and watched the little cars just barely make it up. I barely made it all the way up. It took me about 45 minutes to get from the house to the top of the hill and about 5 to get back down. The pictures that I have posted are of the view from the top. Its a great view but if we lived up there I would refuse to go anywhere because of the trip back up. That was the highlight of the day. And the swim afterward in the pool in my backyard was wonderful. For dinner though, as I mentioned before, the British family (I will remember their names soon) invited me over for chicken shishkebobs. They were great and so was the food. The were even nice enough to invite me to come to Bodrum with them afterwards, but I turned them down. I'm sure they will be ready to adopt me soon. They are rich and travel to turkey every summer and live near London, so sorry mom, if they ask, my answer will be yes. Now the startling news. Yesterday Vedat found out he had to go on some business trips this weekend. He left last night at about 3am and wont be back until Sunday at 10pm, leaving the house to me. He told me I can do whatever I want as long as I don't get deported or arrested and I call him at least once a day. Dont freak about this mom, I still have a few people still here if I need help. But today Pamir was sick and Julie went home To England last night, so I didn't hang out with them. Tomorrow they will show me around Bodrum or I will explore it myself. Wish me luck and Ill bring back more pictures, though Blogger has limited my pictures to 5 per post.

Nice pics, keep up the effort. Wish I could send the Adobe Photoshop CD...enjoy your easy days before school starts. The views look great. Try posting your mail address for some snail-mail. We think of you daily and your name passes our lips...I'd rather not post just why, but we are thinking of you! See you in less than a year. Dad
